Odaffer A quiet Wedding occuredat the home of Mr. and Mrs J. M. Swallow two miles south east of town, Their daughter Lura, the c-knowleged Bell of Americus was married to Herbert D. Keith of Council Grove Wednes A few days ago a gentlen an in this neighborhood borrowed a saddle of one of the near neighbors and when he took it home, it is reported that he was so happy that he fell off the porch.

A lunch was served. Some beautiful and useful presents were given. Among the friends from abroad were Mr. L. A.

Keith wife and daughter, Mr. C. M. Loy, wife and son, of Council Grove and Mr. John Covert of LeRoy.

Mr. and Mrs. Keith will spend a few days in LeRoy before going to the'r home in Council Grove. They wero remembered with the showers of rice when they leit on the 3.10 train yesterday. fers left for his home Monday Clint Odaffer and Mr Clausen were calling in Chase County Sunday.

John Butterscotch says he is going to have a new buggy the 4th and sport just right so let liia wife take notice. Mr Goodyear was seen in P. H. last night on bnsiness. Fred Stout was calling on some of the young ladies last evening.

Reddy and Clint was seen taking some fat cattle to Emporia Wednesday. Sam Bamesberger now goes around from early morning till late at night happy as a lark, he now has a hand. The Post Office will be open on the 4th of July from 12 m. to 1.30 p. m.

S. GIBSON, P. M. The following places will celebrate the 4th next Wednesday; Americus, Dunlap, Allen, Hartford and Plymouth. But the best of these is the city of A MERRY CUSS.

The Populists met at the school horse last Misses Maggie and Alice Collins attended church in Americus Sunday morning. Mr Kitzenberger and family of 41 were the guests of S. Bamesberger and family last Sunday. The Club met at the home of evening there being 15 present they elected the foiling persons to go to Emporia to-morrow 8 of whom were at the meeting.
