Topeka is the proud possessor of many institutions whose tame is world-wide, and especially does she edify herself upon the possession of such a house as that ot Messrs. Park-hurst-Davis ft Wholesale Grocers, who are to this city what Thurbe was to New York, and Sprague, Warner ft to Chicago.

This firm had its inception 21 years ago, and practically from its opening day was a phenomenal success. The house now stands as one of the largest, greatest and most popular concerns of Its kind west of the Mississippi, and their brands of coffffees, teas, spices, extracts, table sauces, liquid blueings, ln all every thing in the grocery line, is acknowledged by experts, to be the best money and science can produce. Especially Is this true of their baking powder and olive oil, which, after thorough analysis and comparison with other makes, are pronounced the best. Coffees rnd spices are imported from Java, "Central and South America, China and Japan, and are the purest and finest in use. They are also one of the largest cigar Jobbing houses in the West, handling all the better grades of imported and domestic goods.

Their enormous business house on Kansas avenue is one of the finest of trade emporiums, of which Topeka and the West are justly proud. This wholesale house contains a stock of goods which has few equals and no superior for variety and excellence ln this section of the country, and from 80 to 90 people are employed in its various departments, preparing shipments to every portion of the Greft Central West. The history ot this house and its hard struggle against overwhelming odds, including railroad discriminations, etc, are too well known to require repetition here. Topeka was entitled to the trade of this section, and the enterprising methods of this company rapidly procured With unexcelled facilities and ample resources, this house is doing its full share to maintain the prosperity and well being of the city's commercial supremacy, and relations with it will be found of the most advantageous character. There are 23 traveling salesmen and 60 clerks, constantly employed.

It is said that every one i adapted to some trade or profession. and that experts In any line are like great men, "born that way." In this case this gentleman has certainly struck the right chord, for the management is as near perfect as places of this kind in larger cities. It is today one of the cleanest and best known eating houses in the city, and is patronized by the business men, parties, and the epicure with equal satisfaction. Mr. C.
