Miss Stratton, formerly dean of Wellesley college, was leading chapel on the morning before college closed for the Thanksgiving recess. The subject of her discourse had been foreign missions, yet her audience was startled to hear her announce that special prayer would be offered, that morning, for Turkey. THE fORTYETH ANNUAL CONVENTION OF THE KAN STATE SUNDAY SCHOOL COVENTION. will meet in Hut-hinson. Kan.

Kansas should cover herself with glory in the intertainment of this great body of Baptist brain and consecrated intelligence. The Pastors and Citizens of Topeka, under the leadership pastor G. W. Harts are getting things in readiness for the coming of this Great Convention. The Sister Cities in the State of Kansas are earnestly requested to join with Topeka in every way that will contribute to the success of the Convention.

Kansas City Kan. Teacup for Fortune Telling. In the fashionable west end of London a teacup especially made for fortune telling is being sold. The cup is engraved on the inside with the mystic symbols of the fortune-teller a bell, heart, horseshoe, and so on. The tea leaves at the bottom are swirled round the cup, and according to the position of objects on which they stick so is one's fortune.

TAKE NOTICE. THE FIRST DISTRICT CONVENTION AUXILLIARY TO THE NATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION. THE FIRST ANNTVERSRY. of the Baptist Convntion of the Central and Western Stats and Terriories will be held with the the St. Baptist Churoh in Topeka, Kansas begining Tuesday before the first Sunday in July.

The dates are June 28, 27, 29, 30, July 1 and 2, 1905. Our Women's Auxillilary Conen-tion will be on the first two days of these dates. May we add: on Monday night June 26 there will be a concert compoingmany unique features given in Topeka, at the Shiloh Baptist church, for the benifitof our Women's Convention. We bespeak for its success, having placed all arrangments under the immediate management of our good Topeka Board member, Sister Emma Gains She is to be assisted by the best localnd fnreign talent. A rare literary and musical treat is ant-isapted.

All sisters wha have arrived in the city that date and the general publice of Topekr are In the Opposite Direction. It was at a party and they were talking of the head of one of the large trusts.
