Through the kindnes of Mr. E. F. Donovan we took a ride last Friday eve ning a mile or so northeast of town-and stopped at the fine farm of Mr. Joah Long, where we were shone a line lavn of roses of the most bcautiim varieties, which is justly the pride of Mrs.

Long whose good taste is well displayed in her roses, and shrubbery. We doubt if her collection can be beat in the Sta4e. and faints at cost- Mornins Glory, the only genuine patent, new process flout-on the market. One was shot from a hack while walking along the streets, another was killed at a beer garden, and another at some other place which our informer could not state. Anderson county. One was a very valuable mare belonging to A. A. Adams. One day last week, while Judge Spriggs and one his boys were planting corn, quite a serious accident happened to the boy. Mr. Spriggs had cut a hole in the sod with his ax, and the boy dropped the corn, but it did not all go into the hole. The boy put out his foot to push the corn, and the Judge, not noticeing, brought his ax down again to cover the corn, anil completely severed three of the boy's toes. Dr.

In the eighth inning the 2d baseman of the Rlnnts gave the Walkers two runs by wild throwing and error. The fieiding both nines was poor.

The 2d baseman of the WalKers done some bad playing as did also the 1st baseman. Capt, McFad-den made some errors in running his men but otherwise his playing was good. The playing of Jim Williamson, the little left fielder was good. Capt. Blunt did his work without an error, as did also Brown on first base.

J. S. Cantrel, Charly Lyon and Watt of the Blunts with a little practice will mane good players. In my opinion, the Blunt nine is.farjth bestbut as this is the first game this opinion may be reversed, The next game wili be played Saturday next. Spaujldixg.
