Callahan Utile COMMISSIONERS. If you wish flour, meal or graham call on Haines. All grades and the celebrated White Elephant. strike at the by turuiru CJUHty printing over to parties other than The TiiAXseiiiPT. It is not from mercenary motives, or pecuniary considerations that The Transcript objects to Mr Piatt's behavior, neither does The Transcript object to his career as a private individual, but when lie openly, avowedly aud purposly spurns the authority of the county commissioners and endeavors to avoid discharging the legal obligations imposed upon him as a public official, The Transcript is of the opinion it is time for him to stop and consider the course he is so recklessly pursuing.

The county commissioners possess the legislative, judicial and executive power ia county legislation, and when they decided upon this as the official paper of the county, it was Mr. Piatt's duty to implicitly obey the instructions of his superiors in rank of legislative authority. Mr. Piatt seems to be imbued with the idea that he has full power, authority and prerogative to retard, obstruct or rescind the action of the commissioners of Wichita county. The commissioners of Wichita county are earnest, conscientious and honest officials, who in the capacity of their lrgal authority seek to maintain the dignity of their position and the purity of their faithfully upholding the majesty of the law and impartially doing their duty.

Standard has been the official county paper, and TnE Tranhcript never uttered an objection; The Farmer has also had the county work and this paper has gracefully actjuised to the judgment of the commissioners. But now that The Transcript has? been designated "official comity paper," this man Piatt, who is "neither a commissioner, law-maker or has power to control ihe actions of lawmakers, takes it upon himself to ruthlessly disregard the power of the commissioners and instead of following their instructions, pursues his own erratic course in the execution of his duties, which is a homoe Any thing you had and indifferent at the City Drug Store.
