He was a son-in-law of Leonard Wilson, of New Salem. The particulars were telphoned to this place from Atlanta giving it as follows: Haywood was out in his yard with gun and dog, when his dog started to run after a calf which was in the yard. Haywood, took the muzzle end of the gun in his hand, and swung the gun around and hit the dog with the but. The action and jar in some manner discharged the gun the ball passed fairly through Haywoods body, killing him instantly. His brother was in the yard and witnessed the accident.

Haywood was a young man about twenty-four years of age, and was a highly respected citizen of Atlanta. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn their loss. The funeral was held Tuesday, and a large number was in attendance. Quilting Bee. A good old fashioned quilting was enjoyed by a few of the neighbors and friends of Mrs.

John Boyd, at her home one day last week; and not only was the quilting enjoyed, but such a visit, all the by gone good times and gathering, also the present rehashed, making the day a most pleasurable one in fact it proved to be a day which will be long remembered by the ladies present, which were, Mesdames Perry Miller, Ore Ris-irg, Walter Rising, Ed Moffit, R.
