Here's luck to you Bro. Leftwitch in this new departure. It fills a long felt want. It is quite interesting and amusing to listen to the various ideas of how the work on the macadam on the streets should be done, and how the city might have made or saved money. The city dads called for bids for this work they were made and accepted, the proper bonds given for the completion of the work as per stipulation in contract, a committee appointed to look after the work that it be done in accordance to specifications in contract, and there is no doubt when the work is done it will be as near in accordance to contract as any other set of men would complete it.

Messrs. Tredway and Hutchinson will without doubt make good their part of the work and when finished will be all Ok. There was a large volume of business done the first days rock breaking on the street. Every one had a theo ry of his own in regard to the best and fastest mode of placing and breaking the material, and each one illustrated their theory by taking the hammer and working a while. The contractor took in the situation and encouraged the different projectors in their theories thereby getting quite a quantity of rock broken during the day, at the expense of others.
