Kansas State Teachers' Association will have a great program for its annual meeting at Topeka, October 20 and 21. Among the men of national fame who will deliver addresses are Dr. Luther H. Gulick, New York City; Dr. Henry Goddard, New Jersey Training School; Prof.

P. P. Claxton, Tennessee, and Wm. G. Bagley, University of Illinois.

One of the general sessions will be devoted to a Kansas program dealing with the educational problems of the state by the following prominent Kan-sans: State Supt. E. T. Fairchild. Pres.

H. J. Waters of the Agricultural College. Prin. Harry L.

Miller, Kansas City, Kan. Miss Effie Graham, Topeka: Supt. L. W. Mayberry, Tola, and Chan Address all Communications to County Supt.

Stockton, Kansas. teacher shall be required to the effect that the pupil has completed satisfactorily the course of study of the school attended. 8. A fee of twenty-five cents shall be charged to defray the expenses of the examination. 9.

No pupil shall be admitted to the rural-school examinations who shall not have finished the eighth or ninth-grade work; provided, that the seventh-grade pupils may be admitted to the examin- ation in reading and physiology. 10. The examination to be given for schools having a term of nine months and using the Course of Study for Graded Schools should include all the subjects in that course except ethics and industrial training.

Examinations will be held bi-monthly. Questions will be sent from this office; we shall use the uniform list sent from the State office. Dates for exam-' inations are: Thursday and Friday, Nov. 10 and 11; Thursday and Friday, Dec. 22 and 23; Thursday and Friday, Feb.

Every teacher should plan to attend the meeting in her respective district. BI-MONTHLY AND DIPLOMA EXAM-ATIONS. Rules governing the bimonthly and county diploma examinations: 1. The bimonthly examinations shall be given under strict examination regulations. The grades from these examinations and the regular school work shall be counted not less than one-half toward a county diploma.

6. A minimum grade of 60 per cent, with an average of 75 per cent, shall be required for examination. Pupils may carry indefinitely all grades of 75 per cent or over toward graduation. 7.
