Tom Itardiman, from tlia Miller settlement, was in town Wednesday. Tom has just returned from a trip west, and reports the late storm as being very severe iti eastern Colorado. Frank Weir, our gentlemanly under sheriff and sheriff elect, was eon Sued lo his room with a severe spell of sickness, the latter part of last week, but is now able to take his reghias rashens. Sanders, is in from Baa comity, Colorado, and reports Sion-ington as having received majority of votes cast for county-seat at the general election, though not receiving a plurality over other contestants. This virtually settles the question in favor of Stoniugtoii, as Vila, a healthy county seat aspirant, will, no doubt, throw her strength iu favor of that town. Jesse Northcutt, our popular attorney, leaves tomorrow, for "Vinidad.

By strict attention to business, Jesse has built up a practice in southwestern Kansas, that has been envied by attorneys who have practiced in courts as long as Jesse is obi. Calvin Coon is the most generous hotel man in Kansas. Evidence of the fact, ho has table spoons in the sugar bowls. Tho court house is assuming proportions ind 'when completed will be the handsomest structure western Kansas. The Monitor is an established factor in Morton county. Since the blizzard of last week, the weather has been perfect, aud our people are enjoying a genuine Kansas November. Cyrus Parrill is now carrying the mail from this place to Morton. The peopla down there can look for their mail regularly. A town is judged by its newspapers, now-a-days. Advertise your business and let tbe outside world know whit we are doing.

Commissioner Kilbourn is in receipt of a bill for supplies, donated to our people by the generous residents of Oxford and vicinity. B. McCaffrey is among us again after a few months stay eastern Kansas. Me. returned in time to vote and take his portion of defeat.
