Among the allegations against Jackson are the following That when he first went to Grant county to ttke the census he was drunk for two weeks, aud that prior to that entered int- a conspiracy to speculate upon his office for pay by first making overtures to the town of Cincinnati; and this being rejected, by closing a deal with the town of Ulysses, where he made his hfadquar ters. It is also alleged that he entered the votes of sixty non-resideuts for Ulysses ns the county seat, their names being fictitious; -that he excluded and "wuld not permit a large, number of qualifie persons to vote for the town of Cinciunnti, and that the number of persons thus prevented from voting was sufficient to j.rfeet fie result. It ia also charged that a large number of persons voted fur Cincinnati, and Jackson completely changed their votes to lyases; that the people, of Ulysses entered into an unlawful combination with the electors of Zionsville for their votes and that Jacks helped carry out the corrupt contract; thut he continued drunk and unfit to transact business and indecently exposed his person, and was an object of aversion and disgust in imny other ways. The form of oath which he is alleged tcr have ndnunis't-r-ed to respectable persons was a3 follows ''You do solemnly swear thit this is as big a lie as the rest of the lies you have sworn, so help you John Rogers or any other man." The most interesting feature about it though, is that Mr. Simkins is down on the program for the exhalted position of groom with Miss Callie B. Dush as bride. The wedding took place yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, September 13th.) and wo presume that Mr. Simkins is the happiest man in the state of buckeyes and beer to- day.
