We would suggest to our worthy citv council that an ordinance be passed prohibiting parties from pedling various articles of produce throughout the city, without a license. Our merchants need protection in this line, and they having established their -business here, thereby adding largely, to the and business facilities of our town, are entitled to that protection. Qiite a number of parties have been retailing produce about town at private residences, thereby supplying everybody in this line, and a few of these parties have had the cheek to go our grocery-men, after selling all they possibly could in this manner, and try to close out to them the balance of their loads. Of course, this would leave our dealers without a home market. This is not fair, and a license fee of at least $1 per load should be set upon all such retailing business.
