Minutes of Farmer's Institute. i The Scott County Farmer's Institute met iu Epperson's Hall Saturday aftei About twenty farmers were present.

Mr. Dickhut started the discussion on Wheat Growing, and theu the institute turned into an experience meeting. Not, what'i8 your theory; but what has been your observation and experience in Scolt county, whr always the Mr. Sisam led thedis-enssion, spring crops are most protitable for Scott County Some preffered oats, some barley and some cane. On the following points Ihe Institute practically agreed: For wheat: plow early, not too deep, harrow immediately and sow early.

For oats and barley plow deeper, early in the fall or winter and sow early Oats and barley do best on old ground. Caue is hard on the ground unless followed by cane again. Mr, Mcluturff reported his wheat harrowed twice when six inches high, yielding 35 bushels per acre. 'Mr, Lamb reported his potato crop 400 bushels, as line as could be raised anywhere. Everybody took part and enjoyed it, and ihe institute is an established thing.

Tb next meeting will be held thetirst Saturday in February. Corn' caneiyed and alfalfnsowingon the upland will be the subjects discussed. J. K. Freed.
