fr-'-'J Moruni County. Kansas. BATTLESHIP OF THE FUTURE May Bo Gigantic Submarine Capable of Diving Below Surface After i Firing Broadside. Albert Knox, discussing in Th Navy the necessity of a new 6tyle of warship, says that if modem steel protective armor has failed to answer the purpose for which it was manufactured a fact that seems to have been demonstrated beyond dispute by the experiments on the San Marcos then heavily armored ships of war may 60on be things of the past and modern battleships must 6eek new means and methods of protection from the attack of, or while attacking, an equal or superior enemy. Among the methods might be euggested increased speed, greater accuracy of gunfire (if possible), shortened time for finding range.

Even with these points of superiority the future battleship needs as a. requirement of paramount import tance the ability to hide or to bei come invisible to the enemy. Of course this requirement can only be met by the future Dreadnought being a gigantic submarine capable of diving below the surface of the sea, after firing a broadside and reap pearing in an unexpected place. Thati such battleships will be built withia the coming century is entirely witi in the range of probability. WHAT DYSPEPTICS MAY EAT IN FOAL 2 Bay Mares, 4 years d.
