Democratic County Notice is giyen that the Democratio County Convention of Seward county, Kansas, will be held at Springfield on, Monday, Qqtqher. 20, 1800, at 10 o'clock a. m. for the purpose of noinjntJng qaId.ates. fqjr the yarious offices to be filled a the ensuing eleotion in November.

The prlnaries qr the pnrpqie of electing delegates to the county conyention will be foejd at the usual voting place in each township on Saturday, October J8, 1890, at 2 o'clock p. m. Mr. Robertson was an old settler of this county and during the year find a half was county commissioner for this district, in which position he proved himself a very efficient, honest and trustworthy official. He was highly esteemed by everybody and al are sorry that he left us. We hope be will prosper his pew home. Miss Annie McDermott, one of the beautiful and accomplished daughters of Mr.

and Mrs. T. J. McDermott, was married tq Mr. Frank Walker on" Sunday, September 21, 1890.

The peremony was performed by Rey. Beeson at the residence of the bride's parents, the Depot hot tel. After the wedding and Mrs. Walker left for norton, their future home. We join with their many friends in wishing them a long Jife qf prosperity and happiness.

Mills announces herself in this issue of the Leader as a candidate for the office of school superintendent, subject to the decis on Qf the Republican county convention. Miss Mills is an accomplished lady and is well and favorably known throughout the county. If elected to the office she will nndoubtedly discharge her duties to the satisfaction of the people. While attending the democratic state convention at Wichita last month, we had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Mr. Geo, Earp, the county clerk of Grant county.

Mr, Earpisa very bright and intelligent young man. He was a of the committee on resolutions, and to his credit it must be said that it was him who introduced and caused the adoption of the resolution referring to irrigation, a matter in which the people of the south west are so much interested.
