The mourning cloak" butterfly, which is dark, with a light border on its wings, makes a cry of alarm by rubbing its wings together. JX)w mole is not blind, as many persons suppose. Its eye is hardly larger than a pin-head, and is carefully protected from dust and dirt by means of enclosing hairs.

"What is the object of the Band of Mercy?" Our Dumb Animals, the official organ of the Band of Mercy in America, replies: "To teach and lead A Prize Story. spection. It is better to. buy a cheap instrument at first to learn with. By and by when you have mastered the art you can use your cheap machine for experiments in which alone, if you are any way ingenious, it will more than pay for itself. Do not imagine that because a camera is low in price, the work it will do is correspondingly low in quality.

Many of the best firms are turning out low priced machines that are doing splendid work. They can well afford to do this, knowing full well that many will buy these interested and then not rest satisfied until they have a fully equipped up-to-date Camera. The Roger's lens especially is very good and very cheap and does extremely well for landscapes. We would not dare to recommend any particular make of Camera, there are so many good ones upon the market. A front focus Camera, in which the focus is obtained by moving the front, bearing the lens forward or back, is by many preferred to one with a back focus, which requires moving the back to focus on the subject.

The camera should also have a sliding front and a swing backhand, if the highest degree of excellence is desired a double swing, allowing the back of camera to swing both forward, backward and sidewise, and reversibly back, the uses ot which we will explain by and by Ladies Don't have jour Fall suits made until you see St. John Scott Ladies Tailors and Dressmakers. 1116 Main. A group of children wearing Band of Mercy buttons were asked by a lady what the button meant. "Oh, we belong to the Band of Mercy," one said; while another added, "We are Band of Mercy members." "What do you mean by Band of Mercy members?" the lady then asked.
