The Green News School Meeting. The district school meetings at Clay Center were held Friday, April 11, at the school houses In the county, at which time school teachers were elected for next year. Several of the boards have reported tow. is The Time To Buy Forty.Third Annual Convention. Th6 forty-third annual convention of the SweOish Lutheran Kansas Conference was held at Walsburg April 1C-20.

This conference comprises the stitCB of lytnsaa, Colorado, 1 Oklahoma and -Kansas City, Mo. The initial sermon was preiched Wednesday evening, April 16, by Rev. E. Olsson, D. Courtland, presi iditnt of the conference.

Wakefield voted $5,000 to put a domestic science course in the high; school of that place. The teachers were not appointed on account of the absence of Director A. L. Guy, who was called to Cheyenne Wells, by the death of his brother-in-law, Will Male, who was killed in a railroad wreck. A large amount of routine business was transacted, covering the educational, benevolent and mission work of the conference.

The congregations at Oklahoma City and Galveston, were given much attentiou and increased financial support because of their strategic positions. The Swedish hospital at Kansas City, valued at 60,000, was received as a gift. Rev. W.

Lindquist, A. is the superintendent. The near Cleburne, and valued at $49,500, presented a most encouraging report. On Saturday afternoon about 50 of the conference delegates rode in automobiles, so generously placed at their service'by the good people of Leonardville and Warburg, to the Orphanage, located 16 miles away, to make the children a visit. The Old People's home, locate at Lindsborg, reported legacies received during the year amounting to nearly $12,000.

Trinity college, located at Round Rock, having a property value of $75,000, and an enrollment of about 100 students, is also owned, by this conference. At this meeting the first official laymen's conference was held. The keen interest in the benevolent and educational taken by the laymen bodes well for the future of this aggressive conference. The Women's home and Foreign Missionary societies also sat in an nual Bession at this time.
