Formerly El Paso and other points in that section were supplied with eggs from Old Mexico, but the live cents per dozen tariff imposed by the McKinley bill has redeemed that market for the American farmers. Kansas is probably the best state in the Union for poultry raising. The chief draw back heretofore has been the lack of a market. Mr.

He is the republican candidate for County Clerk of Dickinson county, and is a well qualified, painstaking gentlemen that would grace auy office in the gift of the people. He is well satisfied with his canvass and expects to be at the top of the tree when the votes are counted. Hog Kxpfft-AtioiiH.

All kinds of expectations are now being entertained as to the price of hogs the coming season. Many people are looking for values to be as high up to winter as now, while others are looking for something of a decline within a very few weeks. The tacts of the case are about these: There does not seem to be an excessive number of hogs in the country. The good prices ruiling for some time past have certainly had a tendancy to cause a stir in the marketing of hogs, inasmuch as those who have hogs to sell hardly feel disposed to hold them in the face of such figures. Really, the future of hogs does seem to be somewhat prom-ing.

But it must be remembered that calculations regarding hogs are affected very mueh by the volume of the corn crop. This is the only uncertain condition, as we regard it now, affecting hogs, it seeming probable that the disparity in prices b-. ween hogs and products will, in a measure, be covered by an advance in products. Without feeling disposed to make any prognostication on the subject, we are satisfied that the outlook for hogs the coming season is excellent. This does not necesitate, however, that prices are to continue on the present basis.
