Jennie E. VanEpps at Tonganoxie, Kansas, June 12, 1922, aged 23 years, 8 months and 16 days. Her early life was spent in Illinois. She was married April 2, 1878 to Mr. John F.

Rowand, a pioneer settler of Vermillion County. To this union was born four children, two of whom have died, Charles D. Rowand at Kansas City, Feb 8, 1920, and Hattie R. Meyer at San Francisco, July 8, 1908. Her husband also died February 19, 1914.

The other children, John F. Rowand lives at Tecumseh, Nebraska, and Mrs. Jennie E. VanEpps at Tonganoxie, Kansas. She has lived in Iowa and and also in Texas.

Her last year was spent at Tonganoxie with her daugh- ter. She was ill for some time but not seriously until a short time before her death. Her life was beautiful in every way, helpful to everyone around her. She was religious all her life. Her church membership for many years was with the Cumberland Presbyterians but of late years she belonged to the Methodist church.

Tuesday, June 13th brief funeral services were held at the home at 1 p. m. by Rev. H. A.

Cook after which she was taken to Sidell, Illinois, for burial accompanied by her children, Mrs. Van Epps, of Tonganoxie, and John Rowand, of Tecumseh, Nebr. Her memory will be held precious by all who knew her. For lots 100 by 300 feet, three room house. Excellent for chickens.
