PUBLICATION NOTICE. (First published September 11, A. 1902.) CLASS WORK PHOTOGRAPHS Beckstrom's Gallery Tribune, Kansas. TIRED OF FUSION. from first page You say that this is sentiment? Well, we are for that sort of sentiment in politics.

Cleveland may not be the candidate, but Clevelandism will be in the Democratic saddle in 1904. Believing as we do on such matters, we cannot consistently join such forces without committing political harlotry- -we shall not do it. We get special satisfaction in saying that we shall support the candidacy of W. J. Bailey for governor of Kans.

The editor of this paper has known him well for years, and knows 1 him to be a man of sterling worth, of unquestioned integrity--in business and public affairs-and that he has breadth of intellect sufficient to meet the requirements of the office he seeks. He is familiar with every need of the people of Kansas, and is conscious of the tact that it he is to measure up to the full standard of the requirements of governor he will have to harp on more than one string. We are told that we are making a business mistake, a financial loss in business. That very likely is true, but the editor of the Kansan would prefer to die in the ditch a beggar with a ray of hope for the future of his country beaming from a clear and cloudless sky tor his reward, rather than to belong to a party whose mission on earth is to becloud and betog the minds of the people with pictures of unwarrented misery and unknown conditions of despair. We are told that the Republican party has become corrupt.

Suppose that be true. is it not better to make an effort to purify a live party rather than to waste one's life trying to inject life and progress into a party that has "neither pride of ancestry nor hope of All we ask from Republicans is an open field and a fair fight, and if we cannot survive in Concordia, may be somewhere else we may. Not: a dollar has come to us in Cloud county through politics in the past; we ought to be able to get along as well in the future without it. The individual voter may "take to the woods" in a campaign, and wait till the clouds roll by. The live newspaper cannot; the Kansan would not it it could.

We want to be where there's something doing--we're tired of snip ing; our poke is full; we're going home. Henceforward the Kansan editor asks to be permitted to take part in the primaries and conventions of the Republican party, and to give loyal support of the paper to the nominees of that party. We feel as competent to make a selection of party fellowship as any conference committee could possibly do tor us. We repudiate their choice; we follow our own -our own conscience. Gentlemen, do we get the glad hand extended at the portals of our old home, as is given by the Democrats to their returning brothers? We hope so.

Anyhow, here we are. Stops the Cough and Works Off the Cold. Laxative Bromo Quinine Tablets cure a cold in one day. No cure, no pay. Price, 25 cents.
