Hall VicePresident Easton Township When that great enemy of the farmers, Hog Cholera marshals his forces and attacks the swine of Leavenworth county it is go ing to find organized resistance for the first time in history.

The farmers of this county have in the past lost thousands of dollars worth of hogs on account of the ravages of this disease. Once ft got a fooshold in a neighborhood, all of the hogs in that ritory were doomed unless put on the market in any kind of condition before becoming in fected. Friday a meeting was held in the rooms of the Chamber of Commerce in Leavenworth and a county wide organization, with the following officers perfected; Gus Aaron, President; John Bollin, vice president; John Gable, secretary; Otto Wulfekuhler, treasurer. Logan Loge don, age 14, died last Saturday morning about 8 o'clock, after an of ten weeks. Bright's disease and Dropsy was the cause of death. Two or three weeks before his death he suffered much and the brave battle waged by the little fedow won for him an added circle to an already host of friends. Ed and Nick Protect Customers Logan Esteil Logsdon was born May 11, 1902 in Pulaski county, Kentucky, and died Apr. 28, 1917 at Easton, Kansas.

He was a son of Jerry and Rhoda (Long) Legs don. His mother died twelve years ago, leaving Jerry with the two boys, Virgil and Logan. Mr. Logsdon moved to Kansas 8 years ago and he and his second wife made friends from the first day in Kansas until now. Logan will be missed in the Logsdon home where he was efficient in all branches of housework.

He will be missed for his smile and sunshine disposition. During his sick he declared his trust to have been pla red in the Nazarene and bowed his head to the Divine decree. The case of Clara Hasty against E.S. Hays was called in the district court last Friday. A jury trial was waived and the case set for trial May 2nd. Odd Fellows In a Double Event Local Lodge Last Celebrated 98th Anniversary with 1st Birthday. April the 26th was the 98th the anuiversary Independent of the Order founding of Odd of Fellows iu North America.

The local lodge called special meeting to commemorate the ann'versary, it was also the 1st anniversary of the local lodge, it being instituted on the 25th day of April 1916. It was a good turn out of the membership considering the bad night, lunch WAS served after listening to several good talks by the member ship and others. The speaking was lead by H. Goff, who is the principal officer of the lodge, talks were made by Potter, Rev. John Carpenter, Dr.

W. A- Adams, Dr. A. R. Adams, Billy Lieurance, Alex Murray, Willieby Brouton, J.

L. Olirhant, Ed Searles, Lloyd Cob erly and Prof. Cloud. The following non members were present, O1 McCray, Ger. McCray.
