"Consistency thou art a jewel." Spring' Work. All over the county the farmers are making preparations for putting out a big crop in the spiing. Plows are being brightened up, harness fixed, teams being well cared for in preparation for heavy work, and the general idea prevails that more ground will be cultivated this year in Greeley county than ever before. It will be done thoroughly too, cx-permental work being done with in this country. It has been demonstrated to a certainty that anything planted wil grow, and the determination now is to cultivate and care for all crops planted.

If this is carried out the result will be that enough produce can be raised iu this cvunty this year to create a good market for it and all kinds of cereals cau be disposed of to a good advantage next fall. The success of this country depends on the farmer. Remember and do your best. We think a crop of broom corn would pay well in this country from the fact that a few of our farmers last year rai sed a small patch of it aud readily found a market for what little was raised, in Denver. Broom corn iu our estimation would pay much better than sugar caue though possibly not so sure a crop.

A sugar meeting was held at Tribune Saturday last, the details of which we have not learned. The animus of the crowd over there ucems to be that this county could not be healthy nor thrive, unless bonded in some way. Tribune adherents will listen to nothing else now, but not long ago fought very shy of expressing such sentiments.
