We hardly see the need of a marshal as every thing in Chapman has been orderly for a long time and it is a useless expense, as our constables can bo called upon when any occasion oilers for the need of an officer of this character.

The ladies aid society of Detroit, will have au auction sale of goods remaining over from the Thaksgiving Fair, and a free lunch of baked beans and bread, on Wednesday evening next at Detroit school house. We invite all to come and help dispose of these goods.
