C. S. SAUM. Jacob Martin and wife Margaret Jane return thanks to their many friends who met at their place the evening of Dec. 5, and left many valuable presents.

The meeting was a birthday party, Mr. Martin being 66 and his estimable wife 56 years of age. The meeting was a surprise on Mr. and Mrs. Martin and was a very enjoyable occasion for them.

Mr. Martin will leave about the middle of December for Atchison. Kansas City and Leavenworth visiting the churches and children there.
