THE NORMAL LEADER 6 Fort Hays Normal Leader Published twice a month in the interest of the Fort Htys Normal School. The feature of the game was the playing of Grace Dyer for the Literati. She scored 18 of the 21 points secured by the Literati. The score was 21 to 11. Tuesday, February 9, 1915 THE LINEUP.

The third and last game of the inter-society series for the championship of the school, was played Friday evening, Jan Debaters chosen to meet Pittsburg. The final debate contest was held Monday night, February first, to choose the four debaters who will meet the Pittsburg Normal.

A preliminary contest had been held and eight debaters chosen. One of the eight, Carrol Whisnant, had dropped out and the remaining seven debated the question, "Resolved that the United States should adopt a system of compulsory arbitration for settling all labor disputes." The speakers for the affirmative were A. F. Beiker, James Callahan, Eric Cum-mings and Walter Stevenson. Each showed in his argument that he had studied the question deeply.

In their argument the speakers for the affirmative showed the benefit the public would derive from such a system. They gave uary 29. The game was hotly contested from beginning to end. The Literati took the lead at the start when Slagle caged a field basket. The Lyceums spurted and tied the score at 6 all.

At the end of the half the score stood 12 to 6 in the Literati's favor. The second half found the teams fighting on even terms. The Lyceums spurted and came within one point of tying the score. The Literati boys began to find the basket near the end of the half and the game ended 19 to 13 in their favor. As a result of the series the Lyceum boys will treat the Literati to an oyster supper.

In their argument the negative speakers showed that such a system would mean a state of involuntary servitude to the laboring classes. The ones chosen for the two teams were: James Callahan, Bert Clark, Eric Cummings and Walter Stevenson.

This Dry Goods and Clothing C. M. order of names has no significance as no ranking was given. The judges were: Mr. Matthew, Mr Tilford and Mr.

Bird. Literati Lyceum Carman Mock Chittenden Richmeir Slagle Archer Bice Fink Peterson Spencer Referee, Leo Bice. Literati Girls Defeat Lyceums. The Literati girls basket ball team defeated the Lyceum girls in a well played game of basket ball. This game was played as a preliminary to the inter-society boys game.

The Literati girls had the advantage of having practiced diligently for the game. The question as to who will compose the affirmative and who the negative team has not been decided.
