nn ivi Several days ago some blatherskite with abnormal abdominal proportions seated himself within one-half block of our office and began to hurl abukve opinions in regard to the Reporter. In his opinion no paper should even be allowed to exist in this town. He had no cause, nor gave none; he is by nature another such a dog as laid in the manger. That selfish, egotistical jack had not brains enough to realize that there are poeple of importance and prestige here who take interest in aiome paper and are giving this paper nearly all the support it is receiving, and their actions and views are entitled to respect, not insults. The one-half day that person spent in Richland his corn field suffered the loss of a valuable jewel.

Well, such a fool ought to partly excused; he isn't entirely to blame for his mental condition, but we wish to inform everyone with such frame of mind that tbe Reporter cares nothing for the lack of their friendship or patronage. public Notice. am hereby instructed by Hiram P. Dillon, receiver of the Lawrence Emporia Railway Company, to request of all persons having in their possession rails or any other materials belonging to the said road to return all of the same within thirty days from this date, August 11. I will pay them one dollar per ton for their trouble of delivering the rails to the Missouri Pacific station at Richland, Kas.

Those having any of the above mentioned road's materials where they can not be removed without considerable inconvenience or expense must report at once to me at Richland whether they wish to buy them or retuan them so that I can report to the receiver.
