Commissioner Sullivan being absent the board took a recess until afternoon. At the afternoon session the following bills were Jame Dyer, labor for county, $17 00 presented and allowed: s4 Chas Ghown (incorporated march 3, 1887.) Autiioeized Capital, $50,000. On motion the board ordered that roads 3, 4, 5, '6 and 7 be declared public highways. On motion' the board adopted the following resulution: II is hereby resolved that the Grant County Bank of Ulysses, Grant county, be and is "hereby appointed the official depository for the safe keeping of, the Grant county funds. Tho said bank to furnish the necessary bonds required by law. The amount of the bond was fixed at 85,000. On motion the imM i appointed H.

G. King and R.j:iiiffiugton to assist the Probate Jge in examining the County Treasurer's books for the first quarter of year. The board then took a recess until Thursday morning. C. Sullivan the board then ordered that the County Clerk be authorized to place the transcript on the transfer record at transfer rates.

The board took a recess until Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning the board made the following order: ORDER ISSUING REFUNDING BONDS. To encourage the panting' and growing of timber; Section 1. It is further orderedthat the County Clerk be and is hereby authorized to pro cure for the use of the county two hundred blank bonds for the purpose herein specified, nd to cause this order to be published in the official county paper. It is further ordered, that upon the presentation to the board for cancellation, any ot the unpaid county warrants of said county in the sum of one hundred dollars or any multiple thereof, not exceeding Livery, Feed and Sale Stable. Relating to the custody of public money Section 1. That section one of chapter one hundred and of the session laws of 1887, be amended so as to read as follows: Section 1. That in all counties having a population of less than 55,000 inhabitants, the County Treasurer shall deposit daily all public money in some responsible bank or banks located at the county seat, to be designated by the Board of County Commissioners, in the name of said Treasurer as such officer, which bank shall pay such interest on average daily balances as may bo agreed upon by the Board of County Commissioners, and such bank or banks shall credit the same, monthly to the account of said Treasurer, and before making such deposits the said board shall take from such bank or banks good and sufficient bond in a sum double the largest approximate amount that may be on deposit at any one time, conditioned that such deposits shall be promptly paid on the check or draft of the Treasurer of said county, and such bank or banks shall, on the first Monday of each month, file with the County Clerk a statement of the amount of money on hand at the close of business each day during the previous month, and the arnoant of interest accrued thereon to said date.
