Morgan, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Kansas, and Hon. W. A. Calderhead, of Marysville, Republican nominee for Representatfrom the Fifth Congressional District; will be in Republic next Saturday evening to address the voters in the present campaign. Mr.

Morgan is a very pleasing speaker and from experience we know that he can interest the aud-! ience. He is one of the big men of Kansas today and is so educated as to give an address worth listening to. Mrs. Morgan will probably be here also and give a lecture to the about Woman Suffrage. Morwomen who care to learn, more gan is also a pleasing and entertaining speaker.

Hon. W. A. Calderhead has made several speeches in Republic and needs no introduction to the people of this community. If the editor of the News was allowed only three men to vote for in November they would be W.

Y. W. A. Calderhead and Chas. Curtis, Yes, you say we are an old time Republican That's true.

So long as there are men on the Republican ticket like the three just named we will be a Republican. Remember these men will speak at the City Hall, Republic, Saturday evening October the 27th. Mrs. W. Y.

Morgan will also be in attendance at the above meeting to make an address on Woman Suffrage. Women are especially invited to attend. The Singing Club. Tuesday evening was the opening number of the lecture and the Sorority Singing Club appeared. They are in the employ of the White Lyceum agency and proved themselves worthy the confidence the company and the people.

The club consists of four young ladies who make a good impression first sight and they prove themselves worthy the highest esteem. Each number was applauded by those who appreciated the merit in to or vocal the high clear readings Mrs. J. S. Erkenbrack returned from Omaha last Thursday where she had been in a hospital for five weeks to live her eyes treated.

Claude Williamson and her children returned from Belleville, Monday morning after a tew days visit. Her cousin, Mrs. Currie. and children, accompanied them home for a short stay. Mr.

10. 1914, aged 38 yrs, months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Mattie M. French, Febr. 22, 1898.

To this peaceful and happy union of 16 years, 4 children were born as follows: Virginia Elmer Alvin and William E. A devoted wife, four children with a host of kindred and many friends are left to mourn his early departure from this mortal life. "But we sorrow not as those who have no hope." The deceased obeyed the gospel some months ago and thus became a member of the church of Christ. He was a good neighbor, a devoted husband, a loving father, He fought manfully, the dread disease which affliced him and yeilded peacefully when the struggle was ended. This world is a combination of pains and pleasures, poverty and plenty, peace and -war; life and death stand chained together, joy and sorrow stand face to face while clouds and sunshine chase each other along our pathway; today we sip with joy the nectar of sweet incense and tomorrow the cup of bitterness is pressed firmly to our lips.

We are born to die, and die to live; another world awaits us where, the good and the bad, the evil and the just, the sweet and the bitter are sparated, where tears and suffering are heaped together, where joy and peace sing one glad anthem and love unfettered holds universal sway. Funeral services were held at the Washington U. Church by Bro. Moore of Concordia and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery there. Thomas who is a strong in her line.
