Four paying oil wells have been brought jn during the last two weeks. The most important find was in Stapletoh well No 1 three miles northwest of this city. Drilling was abandoned at 2,530 feet and the oil came up in the casing 2,100 feet in an hour, and at the present time is. flowing forty barrels per day. Thefle are five other producing oil wells flowing approximately 150 barrels a day on the Stspleton land.

They are shallow wells, being brought in at the 265-foot depth. In the Augusta fields they are bringing in oil wells every day, extending the field. Finding of the deep sand has started a rush for the leases south of this city. The Pennsylvania Oil Petroleum Co. Saturday closed a deal for a lease on 160 acres two and one-half miles south of Stapleton and directly west of 4this city, paying 1 16,000 cash bonus.
