A convention of the people's part' of the Seventh congressional district is hereby called to meet at Hutchinson, Kansas, on Thursda', May 18th, at ten o'clock a. ra. for the purpose of nominating a candidate for congress. The basis of representation in said convention shall be two delegates at large for each county in the district and one delegate for every 200 votes or major fraction thereof cast for the Hon.

The entire program was of sucli a high char acter that every good citizen of St, John has reason to be proud of the class and their excellent instructor. Miss Grace Bess, Pleasant Val Blind Boone, the colored vocalist and pianoforte player, assisted by Miss Stella May, gave a concert last night at the Centenary M. E. church. The greater part of the program was instrumental, and the touch and expression of the blind man is exquisite. Considering the disadvantages he labors under he is perfectly marvelous.
