Ulysses, Sept. 15, 1888. Whebjeas On the 9tu day of June, 1888, the Hon. John A. Marim, Governor of Kansas, under and by virtue of his office, and ie statute in such case made and provided, issued his proclamation organizing the county of Grant.

(Proclamation Omitted.) Whereas, The officers named" in said proclamation did, on the 19th day of June, 1888, duly qualify as by law provided, whereupon said county became duly organized. Now, therefore, it is ordered by the board of county co mmissioners of Grant county Mint an election be held in the several voting precincts in said county on the 16lh day ul October, 1888, for the purpose of electing the following officers to wit: Three members of the Board of County Commissioners. One County Clerk. One County Attorney. One County Treasurer.

One Clerk of the District Court. One Probate Judge. One Register ot Deeds, Cue Sheriff. One Superintendent ol Public Instruction. One Coroner.

One Surveyor. One Representative. Also for the purpose of electing Two Justice's of the Peace. Two Constables One Township Trustee. One Township Clerk.

One Towimhip Tieasurer. In each of the several municipal townships in said county to-wit: Lincoln, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas and Howard. At such election the voters ot said county shall determine the permanent location of the county seat of said county by deposit iri ballot upon which shall lie written or printed he words, "For county seat," followed by the name of the place voted for, and the ters such election may assemble at 9 o'clock, a. in each election pre cinct, and sliull select from among themselves three judges, and two clerks tor the election. The election in Lincoln township shall be nt Ulysses, the temporary county seat; the election in Sheri dan township shall beat Spnrgeon S.
