THIS MEANS YOU The sad intelligence reached here yesterday of the death of A. J. Tompkins, an old honorable and highly respected citizen of this place. Mr. Tompkins left here about one year ago, and was attending to a farm he had near Hot Springs Arkansas, aud for the benefit of his health, which had become very poor.

He died the 7th of this month. Mrs. Tompkins his aged companion has been with her daughter, Mrs. J. F.

Leonard of this place, and knew nothing of his death until yesterday; consequently the shock to them is quite severe. They have the sympathy of the the entire community, hut few men have lived a more exemplary life than the deceased, well may we refer to him as an example for true uprightness of character. We have never in a single instance since knowing him found htm veryiug in any particular from a perfect upright and honest life; such its we would like for everyone to follow after.
