As usually when in Kiowa ho paid the News office a friendly call. By the way, he is the only candidate for a county office that has been a friend of the News from the start, and we fully appreciate this.

We regret, that the policy of the News, forced by the unpolitic action of the republican bosses in this city and at the Lodge, prevents us to swing our hat and shout for Jim Gano, and for that matter, for every man on the republican county ticket, as we should have done if we would have been treated in an corteous and friendly manner by their backers. Mrs. Mackey has now a larger line of Millinery than ever before and at prices to suit all purchasers. 25 Rev. J.

His manly qualities and exemplary habits do him honor. He has wisely chosen for a life companion a young lady of culture, refinement and devout spirit. 30th, and a large audience is expected to greet America's most popular comedian at his reappearance in our city. We have seen Jolly John Dillon many times over, but the last time we had the pleasure to see him at the Crawford Grand Opera House at Wichita in the play he will present here next Monday evening he surpassed himself as the funniest of the funny actors. The Galena, Daily Gazette in speaking of John Dillon remarks: Once more the man who has made countless thousands laugh, entertained a large number of Galena admirers at Turner Hall last night, and entertained them royally. The veteran is apparently as strong and active as ever, and as full of mellow comedy. The play, "Bartlett's Road to Seltzerville," is really bright, clean and clever.

and one of the most interesting Mr. Dillon has presented. Its happenings, while extremely ludicrous, are probable and possible, and the uncertainty of the story's outcome legitimately sustains the interest of the auditor, and culminates exactly as every one wished, though it seemed dubious for awhile that it could. Uncle Jolly secured his youthful bride, and again he looked upon the world as "charming and glorious." The company, were strong in their severai parts, and ably assisted their chief. Laughter was incessant, and the large audience war thouroghly en rapport with the players.

We trust Mr. Dillon may visit us again in the near future. John Dillon will appear at Kiowa on evening of Monday Oct. 30. WHEN YOU ARE OFFERED $5.00 BILLS FOR 50 CENTS BEWARE! El The fakir is after you and he is the man that wins.

Ed Cheap is very fond of pumpkin pie, we observed. Saturday evening he purched a dollars worth, and it the young lady who sold them to him had any more he would have taken the whole lot without asking the price. Prof. Bear's lecture on Robert Burns was a perfect success as far as the lecture was concerned, but the reverse was the case in regard to the number of his audience.
