Mary Waters, of Moran, came over Saturday for a brief visit with her son, A. Ij. Waters. S. F.

Beasley, of Moran, came over on the afternoon train Saturday to spend a few days in Ea-Harpe and Iola. Things are looking good at Els-more. The town is piped for gas and many of the residents are already using it. Down at Elsmore things are looking so well and getting so far along that they refer to this and that "drilling crew." O. O. Russell, of Kansas City came down Friday for a short visit with his brother, II. J. Russell, manager of the Russell lumber company, and also to attend to some business here.

He is manager of a yard at Kansas City. B. Wright, of Moran, is visiting with friends in LaHarpe. Vlr. Wright is contemplating going to Kansas City, where he has secured a position as drug clerk, in case he finds no employment in LaHarpe.

Mrs. Frank Halley returned last Sunday from Ft Scott, where she has spent the past three weeks attending her sister, Mrs. Geo. Hickox, who has been seriously ill, but who is so far recovered as to be out of danger. Mrs.

Both will visit with Mrs. Halley here. The LaHarpe high school lfoot bail team went to Bayard Saturday where they were defeated by the Bayard team to the tune of 15 to 5. Tip high school boys say the country boys outweighed them over twenty pounds to the man, and this advantage was one that the superior speed and skill of the high school team could not overcome. The Bayard boys treated them with the utmost respect and they have no complaint to make, and no excuses, except that they were outweighed.

A return game will be played here next Tuesday in which the LaHarpe boys hope to redeem their defeat. bananas, oranges, lemons, remember that Logan keeps a fresh supply on hand. Mrs. Emma Keen, accompanied by her two small children, visited for a few days with Miss Mattie Spurgeon in this city, returning to her home at Moran Sunday night. A large number of people from Moran, Humboldt and other towns down that way attended the foot ball game here Friday.

An unusually large crowd was over from Iola hnd-Gas City. John Funk, who lives three miles southeast of town, was in town Saturday making some purchases and attending to business. He had a gas range delivered at his place Saturday afternoon by one of Lallarpe's hardware merchants. Dr. Halm was summoned to Moran Saturday to attend Dr.

Lambeth of that place, who was reported to be very seriously ill. Later in the day, however, Dr. Halm received a message stating that his services were unnecessary as Dr. Lambeth had improved greatly and required no medical attention. Dr.
