Cherryvale has a "law enforcement committee," which aided in adding sev-erai huudred dollars to the school fund from violators of the piohibitary law during the last term of the district court.

We noticed Ed Johnson out belflnd the house kicking himself, because he had been mistook for Johnson's sorrel horse.

Doug and Crit Watkins bought part of the fixtures of the billiard hall of the Kreps boys, and moved into the Mau-ning building. Parties are at work putting a fence around the cemetery. If all persons interested will come out and contribute cash or woik it may be put in nice shape. Mrs. Sanger, wife of Eph Sanger, living a few miles west of town, was found dead Monday morning in the cattle yard, where she had gone out alone to milk.

It is supposed she was hurt by some of the cattle. mm The bonds to be voted for by the southern tier of townships in this county in aid of the D. M. A. railroad is, Call ey, Cherokee, Parker, Fawn Creek, $18,000.

The bonds will probably carry in all of them. The Galveston News, (democratic) suggests that, in order to simplify matters, and save, costs of election this fall, the several state legislatures select the presidential electors. It would be rather an unhappy day for the party which inaugurated and attempted to carry such a scheme. ELECTION NOTICE.
