Miss Norma Quillen then favored the Association with two readings given in charming manner. Prof. J. W. Roberts address on promotion was listened to with much interest by all the teachers who coped on this perplexing part of school work.

He says the weather is nice there now but has been rather cool during the winter, from ten to sixteen below zero some of the time. He stated that Albert Shrader stopped a few days in his town the 18th. Miss Grace Hunter spent Sunday at Winfield. I have seen the Curtis Aeroplane and Hydroplane both in operation and told them that they were not in it, that he could double disc seven acres in a half day with three horses, for six dollars a day and that he had the cash to back it, told the other fellows they did not have the nerve to take him up, and walked away and left the bunch before they had time to recover from the shock. Rev. J. M'Brian of Sedan has filed suit a-ganist Rev. J. W.

Brown of Peru for the sum of $10,000 damage for alleged slander. The Brown is said to referred to Rev. M'Brian in a slight manner in some of his sermons and the Rev. M'Brian says he must prove his assertions. Rev.
