In 1887 he planted a few cherry trees and in 1888 Siberian crabs. He also has a large variety of climbing roses. ISAAC P. COLE built his one story frame house 18x20 feet with porch on east side in 1885, costing him $000.

His grounds are 255x300 feet with a row of box elder around the entire lot. lie has also planted cottonwood, catalpas and maples for Bhade trees, and lias currants and gooseberries bearing, having planted them in 1880. LEVI C. MORRISON has a two story frame house 22x42, of $1,700. The grounds are 120x130 feet and are piped throughout, being fed by wind mill and tanks.

He has a good stand of blue grass aud clover and in the way of fruits has apple, cherry, apricots and plums. In small fruits he has gooseberries, grapes and dewberries. He has 17 box elder trees planted round the edge of his lot and all growing finely. MRS. ELLEN GUY built her two story frame bouse in July 1886 at a cost of $2,400.

The main part is 30x32 feet with an ell 12x14 feet. Her grounds are 220x125 feet and for. shade trees has box elder planted the spring of 1888. Her fruits are apple, O11I0R1L.IN, KANSAS. Money Loaned, Deposits Received, Farm Loans Negotiated.

Vice-President. Cashier. 44 OBERLIN HOMES. The City as a Place of Residence. Last month we gave an account of a few of the dwellings of our people, and for want of space omitted the following and many more worthy of mention CHARLES B.

MADDOX built his cottage in 1885, at a coet of $1,000. It is 21x23 feet, with ell 12x14 feet. The grounds embrace three lots, on which are growing about fifty ash, box eldert catalpa and Russian mulberry shade trees. LEWIS O. PABKEU has a neat, one-story frame house, 24x20 feet, built in April, 1888, costing him $600.

His grounds are 50x120 feet and planted with shade trees of the variety of box elder and catalpa. KVERTON DOOM bnilt his story-and-a-half frame house, 22x38 feet, in 1880, at a cost of $900. The grounds are 100x120 feet, surronnded by a board fence. WILLIAM B. MEAD, M.

and onr present postmaster, built his one-story frame house, 10x24 feet, with an ell 16-20 feet, in 1882, costing him $1,000. His grounds are 130x175 feet, surrounded by a board fence. His shade trees are box elder and elm, planted in 1882 and are now of fair size. JACOB CLARK has a one-story frame cottage, built in June, 1887. It is 18x28 feet, with an ell addition 18x 21 feet, and cost him $1,200.

His grounds are 120x250 feet surrounded by a board fence, and well supplied with water, the yard bflng piped throughout. He has had very good success with blue grass and clover, planted this last spring. For shade trees he has ash, box elder and maple, and for he Oberlin Clerk Roberts I pear, all planted in 1887.

For shade he has ash and box elder. ANDREW J. KINO has a one-story frame house, 20x20 feet, with ell 12x24 feet, in Johnson's addition to Oberlin, built in 1885, costing him $800; his lots are 38x120 feet, enclosed by wire fence.

In 1887 he planted apple, grapes, etc. CHARLES C. REYNOLDS, built bis story-and-a-half house, 16x22 feet, in 1880, and ell 14x16 in 1836, at an entire cost of $575. His grounds are 90x100, enclosed with a board and wire fence. He has grapes, currants, gooseberries and strawberries in bearing.

For shade trees he has loinbardy poplar, cottonwood, box elder, locust, ash and elm, planted from 1883 up to the present time. He also has ah excellent stand of white clover planted in 1887. JACOB C. WILSON built his two story frame house, 28x30 feet, in 1885, and addition 12x24 feet, one story, in 1887 at an entire cost of $2,000. His grounds are 120x125 feet and he has planted peach, apple, cherry and mulberry trees in 1880.

The two last mentioned are bearing. For shade trees has cottonwood, Lombardy poplar, silver leaf maple, elm and catalpa. JOHN B. HITCHCOCK built his two story house, one story of brick and one of lumber, 26x28 feet in September, 1887, at Equitable onn rair uoerun for sale, from a cents each to $1 00. Traer wtiouni Clerk Wm rants, gooseberries and strawberries. GEORGE W. KEYS built his one story frame cottage the summer of 1885. It is 16x28 feet ell, 12x 16 feet, costing $1,300. His yard, 120x125 feet is enclosed by an arbor vitte hedge and within it he has a fine variety of shade trees such as European mountain ash, horse chestnut, purple leaf beech, magnolia, Norway maple and cut leaved weeping beech, all Ranted this last spring.

For fruits he has grapes, currants, strawberries and raspberries also planted in 1888, the two last mentioned bearing. COL. WILLIAM S. S. MAY, of the firm of May McElroy, attorneys, built his two-story frame in 1887, 26x26 feet and added two ells in 1888, each 12x14 feet, at an entire cost of $1,200.

His grounds are 140x150 feet and for shade trees he has ash, box elder, cottonwood and black walnut, planted in 1887 and 1888. In the way of fruits he has apple, peach, cherry and apricots. He has also a large variety of evergreens and twenty-five varieties of roses. r. o.

KINDIG. cashier of the State Bank, built the main part of his one story cottage in 1879 and has added to it until at present the main part is 16x26 feet, with two ells, one 12x16 feet, the other 12x20 feet, at a cost of $1,000. The grounds are' 120x-125 feet enclosed by a picket fence. "Within the enclosure is a barn and buggy shed 18x26 feet. For shade trees he planted box elder and for fruits has cherry and grapes.

GEORGE P. HODGE, the present county school superintendent, built his one story frame cottage in May, 1880. It is 2Gx 26 feet with porches on the south and east, costing him $1,000. His grounds are 270x250 feet and for shade trees he has ash, box elder and cottonwood. JOHN C.
