Mr. Foulk is one of the brightest business men in Kansas, and his eerviots are fully appreciated by the railroad people. Commonwealth. The Wm. Stafford Company played a whole week in the Peoples' Opera House in St. Louis and had a full house every night. From there to Topeka they stopped only twice, refusing larger towns than Wichita. It is solely through Georgo Morns' special efforts that they are coming here at all.

They are a fine troupe and wo oxpeot a good time when they oome. The Baptists ot Kansas have a col lege at Ottawa that is doing a grand work in eduoating the rising generation. They havo a section of very fine and with a good stone building on it, and no' encumbrance. It was resolved at the State Baptist Convention a few days ago to raise an endowment fund of fifty thousand dollars to nlaoe the eollego on its feet in proper shape mere are some nve thousand and one thousand dollar subsoribtions, and arge number of one hundred dollar ones, come ot our citizens ot this county art giving a hundred dollars apiece. We advise all who want a good plaoe to board to try Mrs.

Hoffman fe Mills. They take a delight ia making the dining room look neat and in keeping ti table in good style. They set a good table, with all the best eatables they can get, and have them cooked just right. Board is not so high as at the hotels.
