Sheldon was charted with shooting at Officer Frank Thompson with intent to kill, and the Traveler says the county attorney insisted on having a larger bond, but that Buckman informed him that he (Buckman) was running that court and persisted in fixing the bond at the small amount named. The Traveler pronounces it an outrage and insists on having the judicial ermine stripped from the judges corpulent frame even at the expense of driving him to the style of dress in vogue before Adam and Eve visited the dealer in fig leaf clothing.

A Telegram representative met Judge Buckman last evening and asked him what he bad to say in regard to the matter. "I do not care to enter iuto any discussion of any of my judicial acts," he replied. "I always feel that I am doing my duty as the law directs, when I make my decisions. When I placed the bond of Sheldon at $500 I tnought it was high enough. The county attorney said he thought it wasn't quite enough but I told him I thought it was sufficient to hold him.
