She was an excellent neighbor, very industrious woman, and a hardworking wife; whatever she undertook to do, be it in the line ef pleasure or of labor, she threw all her encfryintolt, as she could brook no half-way msnher of doing things. Her death will entail i lassnpon the community; will be severely felt by many who were the recipients of her bounty, and la a serious blow to her husband. Funeral services at the Baptist church to-morrow at 10 o'clock a. in. All friendsof the family are respectfully invited to attend.

Louie Lord delighted her Augusta friends last Wednesday and Thursday nights by the rendi' tion of "AMeaibcr of Congress," and "The Modern Godiva." The audiences were not so large as they should have been, but it waa solely on account of the scarcity of money, as we heard many persons regret their inability to witness the acting of their prime favorite. The company rendered Mrs. Lord an excellent support in both play, Mr. Simms being especially happy in his rendition of the laboring-man's candidate for congress. Louie Lord is "at home" in comedy, all of her actions being grace I ul and pleasing, but it Is in the emotional dramas that she is seen at her best, and "The Modem Godiva" is a play admirably adapted for an exhibition of her powers in this direction.

The transitions from sorrowing grief over the sufferings and impending death of her husband while out of his sight to the rollicking mirth and cheerfulnesa on bis sudden arpear-ance; from the wife protesting against Insinuations of a mistaken husband to the grief over the alienation of hia and the passionate denial, and repelling.ol moredefl. nite charges of amchastity, were really wonder- rul, and stamp her aa one of the greatest of emotional actresses that ever trod the stage Louie Lord has won a place in the affections cf the people of Augusta that will always insure her a cordial welcome to their city. We must not omit to mention our friend C. M. Patee, the genial gentleman who so excellently managers the affairs of the troupe.

He is pleasant and courteous to all, and his contact with the world has only aerved to bring his gentlemanly proclivitives into greater prominence, aod we can assure our brethren of the press that they will find him a most affable gentleman. Cared Bheaaatisat. Mr. W. K.

Ferguson and John Rodger? came to me and asked me how much I would give, I told them nothing, unless it was to be a union church they then said that those paving uw. or more, should be entitled to the use of the church ouilding one-fourth of the time, but the property was to be deeded to the P. Churchy With this understanding I then subscribe! and afterwards gave more. The cost of the church wa about 81, XW.
