The editor of the Lancaster (Pa A't if Era, who recently made a trip through this Slate, writes a long letter to his papar, giving his impressions of Kansas. We copy tbo following paragraph: "The State ot Kansas is an im. mer.se parallelogram, 210 miles wide from north to south, and 410 miles long from east to west. It covers an area of 81,318 square miles, or 52,053,520 acres.

It is larger than all New England, greater in extent than Pennsylvania aod Ohio, or New York and Indiaua. If popula ted as densely as Massachusetts, it would contain a population of nearly 10,000,000. That it is capable of sup-porting such a population, when her resources are fully developed, is assured from the single faot that in one year, from 1877 to 1878, she rose irom the eleventh to the first rank as a wheat producing State, and from the twenty-second lo the fourth in the prodution of corn dating the same period. And to show bow Utile was known of tbo capabilities of this country by our best informed men, the incident is recalled that Secretary Klipparr, of4Ohio, when that State led in'the production of wheat, and Kansas was spot-en of as "a desert," in an able and elaborate essay on wheat culture, placed the western limit of tho wheat belt within the boundaries of Obiol Last year the wheat crop of Kansas was double that of tbe Buckeye state rebel war ciaims and the pensioning tf rebel sohliers. The result next Tuead iy will show us whether they will submit to such an arrangement.

Those Letters. Eggers and Stumlaugh, in their recent published card, say tbey never bowed the letters of their coparceners in their conspiracy against Senator Irgalls to any one. But Mr. Logatc, of the worth J'ress, who is generally pretty well posted in Kansas affairs, thinks they arc troubled with defective memories. He says: "When and Eggers say that ihey never showed those letters to anyone while ia Washington, they convict themselves of bad memory.

On tho second thought, with memory refreshed, lot them tell the public whether or not they showed those letters at the house of S. C. Pom-oroy, whether they showed them to Capl. Thomas, whether they showed them to K. W.
