Reed, with the backing of the Allen- Progressive faction will endeavor to pull thru with the banner of Allen flying from their tent pole.

This banner includes the Industrial Court, et al. As issues develop Morgan may push modification of the court, along with economy talk, and Legion support. The strength of Democratic possibilities probably lie in the outcome of the Republican struggle. With Morgan as the standard bearer, a great deal of Democratic support will fall in behind him 1 because of intense antagonism for Allen and his works. If Reed should be.

victorious as a result of administration maneuvering, a strong Demoeratic candidate would. probably, bel elected. The people of the state are sick of, industrial blundering, and tax increases, at the hands of the present control. The only hope for normal Republican victory, lies in the overthrow of this political liability. The question does the Republican party in Kansas' support Allen extravagence and Allen industrial blundering? It it ocratic does, victory in Kans.s next year is certain.

When he was eight years of age the family moved to Beaverville, Ills. His death occured at Newton, Nov. 24, 1921.

Ada Brown, Duean, Okla. All except Mrs. Brown of Georgia were present at the funeral services. On daughter, Mabel, died at the age 23 years. The deceased knew of the realities of soldier life having enlisted in Co.

134th volunteer infantry, which he served until the close of the war being honorably discharged Dee. 15, 1864. The family enme from Illinois to Kansas in 1879, locating on farm in McPherson county, moving from there to Newton in 1892, where Whe wife and mother passed away Oer. 15, 191r. Mr.

Gravel was a member of the First Baptist church of Newton and contributed cheerfully to its su port. He was honest, industrious and frugal. He was in the employe of the city for several years. Since the passing away of his companion he has felt very lonely and at times expressed the desire to join those dear to him in life who had passed on before. Yet he was ever appreciative of all kindness shown him.

He passed peacefully from this life at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lagree 1310 Main street. Funeral services, conducted by Rev, M. Gurley of Topeka, were held at the Duff Sons parlors at 3 o'elock, Sunday, Nov.

27. Interment followed Greenwood cemetery by the side of wife and daughter. Besides the large circle of relatives there are many friends who will mourn the passing, and cherish the memory of Joe Gravel.
