In Kuttlund, where the aunii.il income, or annuity, as it is called, is very popular, and taken freely by the public, it is a well known tact that ihose who do lake tue.u aro a long-lived olnts. What do you think of this Don't it impress you as a very good Stran. I like it. I get $100 annual income after twenty years, and my family will receive 1,000 when I die, so that I shall be paid twice by the Company, 1 am now young and oan readily save ol.bO per annum (it ia only 1 per week fur ihe next twenty years), and then, when 1 shall not be able 10 work us hard as 1 do now. I shall receive $100 per Biiuuin, as long as 1 live, which is nearly twice as much as I now pay, so that iu ten years I shall get back all the mouey 1 paid, and then, wheu 1 die my family will get 1,000 'hat is good, first rate, but ihen, let me see, how oan this Company do Ibis, don't the Company piotnisu 100 much? Clerk.

No my friend Con-pany don promise 100 much, or more than they oan fulfill; in this case as in the case of the Heiurn Premium polity careful investigation and calculation Bhow that they can realise enough from the compound interest on your payments to enable Ihem to do all they any ihey will. Besides the Company haa a large cash capital, paid in full, of 1,000,000, aud it ia managed by prudent business nien, who know all about the use of mouey and where aud how to iu-' vest It safely. If you have any desire to insure your life you oun't do better than to take a policy on one of the plans I havo explained to you, and in this case as in that of the Return Premium polioy, should you stop paying nfter two years, you will have given you a polioy for the full value of all you have paid, on which you will have nothing more to Sfran.l have been thinking about insuring my life, and 1 want to do It. I have a wife aud a littloboy who, should I die now, would be left entirely dependent upon the cold world, and 1 waut to provide for them, when I can, and 1 also want to pro-vido for myself when I am an old man and can't work any more, aud this kind ef policy answers bolh purposes; but I oan't pay at once all Ihe premium you name, $61.00 is more than I can spare now. Clerk.

You can pay your premiums every three months if you prefer, in whieh oase you would only have $13,42 10 pay at any one time. Stran. That suits me exacily, I think I will take a policy for fl.OHO. I wish I could make it for What must I do? Clerk. Why just step into the back room, the doctor will examine you.

I will' write your application, you oan sign it, and we wi'l Bend it to Ihe Company and have the policy for you in a week, when you can call and get it anil then pay youi-mrmey. S'ran. Well, I will do it but 1 don't like the idea of being examined by a doctor. Clerk, Y'ou are wrong there; you look like astrong healthy man, and if the doctor amines you carefully and says you are a goud risk, you will tee! better by knowing you have no hidden disease to fear in the future. You will fell as if you had a new tease of life.

Now tell meto whom you want the income payable. Stran. Why, to myself, of course. Clerk. 1 thought perhaps you would prefer having it payable to your wife.

Stran. Stop, that is a giod Idea. I will have the inoorae payable lo myself, and the amount of the policy payable to uy wife. Aud so the application was written; tho stranger was passed by the medical man, anil in duo course the policy was received from the Comps, ny, and the last seon of tho stranger was when he loft ths Banker's ollice, with a bright smile on his face, having paid his first quartui'v premium, evidently thinking he had done a thing and so he had. conipanied with American Watch Conipa.
