Hon. Frank Nelson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, made his annual visit to the Hamilton county normal Tuesday. Mr. Nelson made the students a tine speech, and went away well pleased with the educational outlook In this county. We have heard of being hot enough to roast egg lying in the suu but never believed it possible until Monday, when we were shown an egg that had evidently been lying in the sun for some time, One half of it I was cooked as effectually as If It hud down to Syracuse fur breakfast Sunday morning.

The program was opened with a song by the students, followed by ft short und pointed speech by Prof. Baker, Next was a song by Miss Mary Brown which "as Well received und much applauded; then came a song by Miss Daisy K'uehart which was rendered in her most pleasing style, which is too well know to need comment. After the musical program partners were drawn by lot and refreshments were served consisting of ice cream and cake and cake and cake. Everybody had a good time and went home satisfied they would remember the evening without having to make a note of it in their diary, and that e.ooipany deserves much praise for their effort. Friday evening V. S. Jones and David Turner were arrested on a warrant issued from Justice Brim's court and sworn too by L. Inge. The charge was malicious trespass.

The charge grew out of the fact that Jones and Turner have been gathering up drift-wood from the bed of thertver where it passed through Inge's laud, they had been ordered to desist but refused Vy do so and the arrest followed. They had a hearing before Justice Brim Saturday. E. G. Bates ar.d U.
