Dr. W. F. Boyak delivered a lecture at Blue Rapids recently on "The Mission of Comets." Wo clip the following from the Times' notice of it: There was an originality of thought about the Doctor's discourse which must have cost much study covering a period of years. In opening his lecture he produced facts and figures impressing his audience with the immensity of the celestial bodies and showed the inability of the human mind to grasp their extent.

The difference between creating uud making was explained. In the beginning God created that is, brought into existence from nothing, the matter from which worlds are made. The making of worlds, he held, occupies ages. His theory was that the planets, like man, had their periods of youth, development and decay. In proof of this be he cited the appearance, change and disappearance of stars.

Innumerable worlds were declining and new ones tukinglheir place, aud our world would finally Lo dissolved uud the matter enter into the composition of new worlds in the vast etheral space. The mission of the Doctor held, was not one of destruction, but probably tho gathering and sowing of seed for new worlds. God, he claimed, chose to work through the laws of nature to accomplish his great ends, aud tlie work was as great though it took a million years to accomplish it, as though done in a day. With ua it was yesterday, to-day and to-morrow. With God the past, present and future are all the same.

It is impossible for us to bring out all tlie thoughts of the Doctor, or do Justice to his valued discourse. At the close a standing vole of thiiuks was tendered Mr. Boyukin." Why could we uot have the saiuo lecture iu Marys-vilW wife and of which Mrs W. may well be proud. K. church. Iler religious life was sweet, simplv aud pure. She bore its fruits in her face, her manner and her conversation everywhere. No one could come into her presence without being impressed with the holiness of the atmosphere in which she lived.

During her last sickness as death drew near, I cr views of the better land grew LrigM and buoyant. Death I. ad no terrors for her. But she talked of it and arranged her affairs even to the details uf her funeral, with as much chuerfuhiess as if she were preparing for a vis't to some dear friend. She said to the writer a few days before sho diid, "What a blessed thought.

If I should die to-night, lo-iuorrow I would be in paradise." She said to her mother, Don.t g. iuve for me when I am gone.
