The oity ordinances concerning dogs should be enforced, and the nearer they become prohibitive the better it will be. Thursday Diok Newman was in town driving a colt to cart, when a our nipped at the animal's heels, causing it to beoome somewhat frisky. This was the signal tor a number ot other useless canines to join in and annoy the colt so that it became unmanageable, throwing the driver and running away. It made 'a partial circuit of the square, and when Syoamore street was reached cart overturned, with one shaft over the the colt's back and the other between his logs, impeding further progress so that he was easily captured. All the ours in town are worth not even the value ot the slight damage done, and they should be "put out," or made pay well tbo yf roiuuiuiug.

Mrs. O. A. Chapman, of Ransom, started from this city Tuesday for Titusville, Pennsylvania, being called there by the serious illness of her mother. Addison Walton, who has been threatened with fever for the past two weeks, went to Topeka Monday for treatment at the Santa Fa hospital.
