As Miss Jennette Trosper was driving to town last Monday afternoon, her spirited horse became frightened and ran away. She kpt him in the road until she found 6he was not strong enough to stop him, and when she came to a smooth place in the road, turned him into a wire fence. His breast was cut a little, but Miss Jennette's great coolness and presence of mind saved herself and the buggy from possible injury.

A first-class company of comedy artists, engaged especially for this piece, will renler this very amusing and interesting play in SETINEL HALL, SATUKDAY, April 23d, 1887. The play will be taken from the original manuscript by permission of the author, and will be the Most Comical Play Ever Rendered in Frankfort. Everyone will remember the strong gale of wind that was blowing last Saturday, and while we were blinded with clouds of dust, the eastern portion of Norton and Graham counties were swept with a tomiido of lire.

Nearly all property was consumed for many miles; horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, and nearly all the grain, with many homes were destroyed, while many persons, including whole families, lost their lives. The entertainment at the colored M. E. church, last Friday and Saturday evenings, was a success. Table No.

James M. Munro, of congestion of the lungs, aged 74 ye rs. Her remains were brought to our city to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rhodes, to await the arrival of a daughter, Mrs. Chas.

C. Dwight, who had been telegraphed for. She arrived Sunday afternoon, and tlia funeial took place Monday morning from the residence, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Cate.

The funeral was largely attended by sympathizing friends. Mrs. Munro was the daughter of Thomas Sherwood, of Herkimer county, New York. She was born April (5th, 1S13, and on March 31st, was married to Mr. James M.

Munro, at Man-lins, New York, by Rev. Mr. Cleveland, the father of the President, of the United States. She has been a faithful worker and member of the Presbyterian church for the long period of sixty years. Nearly all of her married life was spent in Camillus, Onondaga county, New York, and the last nine years of her life were spent in Kansas, She was taken sick on her seventy-fourth birthday, just after celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Iter wedding.

Goff. Miss Nora Augustine has returned to her home in Seneca. Easter Services, The PresbyteYian church was filled to its utmost capacity last Sabbath morning and evening. The church was beautifully and elab orately decorated, no pains being spared to make this feature of the service delightful and attractive. The alter was literally hidden iu flowers and vines, the pulpit platform was one mass of green, brightened up with foliage plants, flowers and callalillies, while the walls of the church were garnished with Ea3ter decoralions, banners, and scripture texts.

The musical selections were of the highest order, and was charmingly ren dered by the choir, under the leadership of Mr. C. C. Mason. In the morning the pastor, Rev.

C. X. Cate preached au able, eloquent and impressive sermon on John i.iH, "I am He that livefch and was dead." The special Easter song and praise service in the evening, conducted by the pastor, assisted by the choir and congregation, was admirable. Next Sunday evening Rev. Cate will begin a series of illustrated lectures on the cities, important places, and mem orable localities iu the lloly laud.

Mrs. O. P. Ewart has just received a full line of spring millinery goods, which she will sell at her usual low prices, and people are requested to call and leam her prices. Ewipgrxport.

Miss Annie Leupold is on the sick list. We have been told that our dude will soon turn to a gypsy, and start for the promised land out west.
