in tne coun- tv nnd state aforesaid, offer at public sale and sell to the-highest bidder, fori E. and at the and and 3rd, day said real the real and of and I We get Pulverized, but still have a good Appetite. After a very pleasant anve last Tuesday evening, behind the roadsters of the Sheriff of our county, we finally reached the beautiful little town of Mullinville. Wending our way to the seat of education (the school house) we entered. The council of the seven wise men was in session.

The Win ters snow was upon the noor ana we at once noticed the chilling effect of the atmospheie. Our pulse fell lower and lower, as the so called words of reform fell from the lips of the speaker. Taking a seat in an obscure corner we drew forth our paper and pencil, and jotted down the items we thought would interest our readers. The president of the Alliance in this county, was discussing the tariff, the rail-roads and every other important political issue of the day; tearing in shreds, the policy of the government, and telling the people how the Alliance proposed to run these things. At the conclusion of this harangue, a gentle spring breeze wafted gently over the audi ence, lneu liOUUIUS UCgau muy.

Y. handled the money question of the nation, easily and gracefully, proving to his own mind, that the people 11 1 A were yearly roooeu or inuusauua vi dollars. During his tittle speech, about one third of the audience took leave of the assembly. We were unable to learn the reason, but suppose the argument was to strong for their nerves. Next followed R.

P. Mc Auley who entertained the audience with laughable stories, said to be new ones; upon this point we are not post ed, but suppose such must be the case. As McAuley is always reliable on historical subjects. Candidate for Rep resentative, Albertson next addressed the people, and told them what he was i 1 TV. going to ao wnen ue reacuru iuycua, saying the women had threatened to hang him if be did not vote right, and he did'nt want to be hung by women.

General Higbee was next introduced and we soon thought every editor in Kiowa county was running for office. We were told what we already knew, that we were getting smart, that our head run to a peak, but failed to see the argument in these assertions, but perhaps we are not Tiart enough, and then again, we felt faint, every thing became dark, but we faced the music. Candidate Myers, next said a few words of encouragement to his falter ing brothers. Three weakly cheers were then given for the ticket and an adjournmnt was taken. Since being so completely pulverized by the All Wise doctor, of the Sand hills, we have been sick, oh, ao sick, but our appetite remains good, and we are truly thankful we are not so wise, as to think we are the only man, woman, or child capable ofruunigthe Uni verse, for we would not like to assume the responsibility of so great an un dertaking.

It must be a great strain on the mind of the All wise doctor to think the eternal welfare of neaven and earth depends upon the actions and sayings of one man, aud that man him self. A good square meal at Tipton's Nov elty, for 25 cents. Sad! sad, it is truly not to be recog nized by anybody. The family of W. C.
