II. L. Gibson, well known in railroad circles, died of consumption at San Angel Texas, Monday, ne had many friends in Herington who will be grieved to learn of his death. Engineer Kirk is on 43 and 30 on the East Kansas division in the place of Engineer McMahon, who was slightly injured in the wreck at Volland last week. There were more men on the Kansas extra board Wednesday morning, than there has been for some time.

The board showed 10 engineers and 12 firemen. The extra heavy business in the round house, necessitated the employing of an assistant clerk, and Eugene Fowler has accepted the position. Engineer Trebbe, who has been laying off on account of injuries received in an accident at Durham about two months ago, reported for work this week. Ed Blalock, formerly of this place but now working out of Chickasha, went through here Monday with two engines going to the shops for repairs. George Othen, car repairer, haa gone to Hot Springs, Arkansas, in search of relief from rheumatism, which haa caused him much suffering.

Daniel Mathews left Friday to represent the B. R. T. of this place at the joint meeting in Chicago, of the railway officials and the B. R.

T. Engineer McAllister was off for a couple of tripa and Engineer Campbell was on his run on 35 and 3G on the South Kansas division. An order has been received to rush 5 Good Terms. Climate equally as good as that of Central Kansas. Can stop off at any point returning in Southwest Jr.
