Alvus Riley had the misfortune to lose one of his farm horses, this week, by some strange disease. This is hard on Alvus as he only had the one team. Mrs.

M. C. Gibson has been dangerously ill the past week at the home o1 her son-in-law R. V. Myers, but is now improving slowly.

Mrs. John Greve returned home from Parsons Sunday, where she had been for two weeks having her eyes treated by a specialist.

This is the time of year when the boys look over their last years fishing tackle and slip out between Saturday night Monday morning to take the sporting fish. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carson, April 8, a fine son. Mrs.

Carson is staying with her mother, Mrs. Fisher, while Frank is at work on a stock ranch in Texas. M. E. Noble has a new boy at his house, born April 4.

James Black was buried last Saturday at the C. P. graveyard. Deceased was about 43 years old and leaves a wife and three small children to mourn his loss. -Most women with female weakness suffer dreadfully piles in addition to their other pains.

P. Wilder. Jim Moore, clerk district court, of Wilson at his mother's home, near Altoona, Saturday evening, March 31. He was buried in the Altoona cemetery, Mr. Moore's health had been poor for some time, but his friends did not think the end was so near.

He was a most exemplary young man who had won his way by pluck, honest and perseverance. His genial smile and straightforward had won him many friends who will miss bim.
