The Rock Island Lumber Manufacturing Company, of the state of Illinois, and with authority to transact business in Kansas, has sold, assigned and delivered to the Rock Island Lumber Coal Company, an Iowa corporation with authority to transact business in Kansas, all of its property, book accounts, notes and all property both real and personal of every kind and description, located at Belle Plaine, Kansas, and the Rock Island Lumber Coal Company have taken possession thereof and will, as suecassors, conduct the business, and collect all book accounts and notes, and to this end has appointed Mr. J. Fair and Supper. The Mite Society fair and supper was a grand success. There was a large crowd present and the sales were many. Straw and Hay Baler. I have purchased a straw and hay baler and am ready to do any work in that line.

Presbyterian Church News. Christmas entertainment for the Sunday school Saturday evening 7:30 p. m. The Sabbath services as usual with sermons appropriate for the day. Isaac Vancuren died yesterday morning.

Funeral services will be held Frilay: afternoon. They will leav: the home east of town about 1 o'clock expecting to reach the Christian church in this city at 2 o'clock, where the services will be held. Box Supper. There will be, a box supper at the Home Valley school house, six miles south and one east of Belle Plaine, Tuesday night, Dec. 27, proceeds to be used to start libraries in the Rose Bud and Home Valley schools.

Music will be furnished by the Hitt quartette. All are cordially invited. Heart Fluttering. Undigested food and gas in the stomach, located just below the heart, presses agianst it and causes heart palpitation. When your heart troubles you in that way take Herbine for a few days.

E. Church Announcements. The Fourth Quarterly meeting services will be held at the church, 10:30 A. M. Saturday, Dec.

24. Sunday morning at 11 o'clock Rev. E. A. Hoyt will preach and sermon followed by sacramental service.

Let official member remember that this is the last Q. Con. of the year and be present with written reports. The second in the series of Children's sermons will be preached by the pastor. Sunday morning, Jan.

T. Broadus will fill his regular appointment at Palestine Lord's day morning and evening. Everybody cordially invited. Mrs. Samantha Forney.

Deceased was born in Guernsey Co. Ohio, Nov. 20, 1847. She was joined in marriage to A. G.

Forney Dec. 25, 1867; moved with her husband and three small children to Belle Plaine, in April 1872. She was the daughter of Mr. David and Eliza J. Dull.

The mother is living at the old home in Ohio, in her 79th year. She leaves behind her husband and children, ranging in age from 36 years, the older, to 13, the younger, six of whom are married. Amanda Hunt, Belle Plaine, Frank Zyba, Jennie M. Dugan, Alton. Cora Price, Tonkawa, Nellie B.

Hatfield, Belle Plaine, Ks. Dr. Chas. Wichita, Della, Josie and Lee are at home. She also leaves seven brothers and three sisters, seven of whom resides in Chio.

Joseph Dull, the post master, Belle Plaine, and Mrs. Emma Mickley, Perth, and brother Miller Dull who is now in California. She departed this life Dec. 16, '04, at 4 o'clock A. M.

Her death resulted from a severe attack of pleurapneumonia: was confined to her bed two weeks. Her misery and suffering was intense altho she bore it with remarkable patience and with no complaint; which was characteristic of her whole life. She never had any sickness since infancy to speak of. Her life work was to assist, wait on and do for others. She was one of God's noble women and her untimely departure has created a vacancy that can never be filled.

She joined the M. P. church when but 22 years of age. At her death she was 57 years, and 26 days old. Funeral services, conducted by D.

T. Broadus, assisted by R. L. George were held from the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The attendance was large.

The remains were laid away in the Belle Plaine cemetery. Gone but not forgotten. Geo. Davis, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, arrived last night to spend the holidays with his mother. Santa Fe Rates.
